Company Information
U Grok It was started with the goal of making RFID affordable and easy to use. U Grok It's sleek design and moderate price enables more people and businesses to benefit from the power of RFID – opening new markets and new applications. Our Smartphone interface leverages the ease of use and sophisticated hardware of Android and iOS devices — excellent screens, wifi, cameras, GPS, etc. — to simplify and enhance user interaction.

U Grok It encourages developers to integrate RFID features into their existing apps and develop new apps for business verticals. The U Grok It system’s free development platform enables easy creation of native iOS and Android apps with the benefits of UHF Gen 2 RFID. We were founded in 2011 by husband and wife team of Carrie and Tony Requist and have offices in Steamboat Springs, CO.

The word “grok” comes from the science fiction book Stranger in a Strange Land by Robert A. Heinlein. As defined in the novel, “Grok means to understand so thoroughly that the observer becomes a part of the observed” and has come to mean (especially in tech circles) that you not just know something, but you completely understand it or you ‘get it.’ It was one of our favorite terms and we felt that it captures the essence of UHF Gen 2 RFID, to help you ‘get’ your stuff - whether that means identify it, locate it, track it, inventory it - however you need to get your stuff, you need to grok it, hence U Grok It.
